Dr. Newcomer’s Approach

Grounded in evidence-based practices, Dr. Newcomer’s therapeutic approach provides parents with actionable and practical strategies to help children better understand and manage their anxiety, worries, and fears. In addition, Dr. Newcomer often works with parents to increase their own capacity to tolerate stress and anxiety, and to develop more effective emotion regulation skills to use during the challenging moments of parenting. She believes that, regardless of a child’s difficulty, all children benefit from consistent and responsive boundaries, strong parental leadership and deep parent-child connection, and as such, includes this as a foundational component of her therapeutic approach.
